TMC landing legs stand tall

When launched in 2004, TMC's range of landing legs raised a few eyebrows in the road transport equipment industry, but three years down the track they have proved to be a success for the company.

TMC offers two different landing leg lengths - standard and the more compact style, measuring in at 100mm shorter. The legs also have three different foot options - flat foot, rocker foot and compensating foot - though interestingly, TMC Australia Managing Director, Brendan Dullard, pointed out that most customers have switched from the flat foot style, traditionally used for spring suspensions, to the compensating foot that is designed to handle both spring and air suspensions.

"Instead of choosing the rocker/roll foot for air suspension trailers, customers are now buying the compensating leg, which does the job for both air and mechanical suspensions," he said.

Brendan said that the acceptance of the high-quality, yet cost-effective TMC landing legs is part of TMC's on-going development as a supplier to the OEM trailer market.

Since the company's establishment in 2001, its product range, which includes air suspension and disc brake axle packages, and output, has rapidly grown.

"When we developed our business we always said we would grow and release new products in a controlled manner," Brendan explained.

"Landing gear is just one part of our growth - but it is an important part. We continue with our policy of offering quality equipment that is custom made to suit individual needs."

Brendan said that TMC's whole product range, which is available direct through OEM distributors, is based on the needs of the operator and the trailer builder alike and has resulted in output having more than doubled since their move to their Hallam, Victoria, premises.

Brendan adds that the reliability that TMC have built within their product range comes from years of industry experience.

"Service is our top priority and I think that's what distinguishes TMC from other suppliers. And while the operation continues to grow, our personal approach to customer service will not change," Brendan concluded. TBB
